04 May 2002: Well, it's taking a little longer than expected to get my new DS L line, but it's in the works. The site should be back in 2 or 3 weeks, along with a much-needed facelift. Also, the site has moved to bobanddoug.com; bobanddougmckenzie.com will still point here for a while, but you should update your bookmarks now, eh.

Strange Brew Movie Clips

Good day and welcome to my Strange Brew movie clips page! These clips were captured directly from the Laserdisc which, until MGM decides to release the film on DVD, is the best quality available. Special thanks go to a great ex-girlfriend of mine who got me the Laserdisc for my birthday, and to my brother for lending me his Laserdisc player (which I kept far too long).

Each clip is available in low and high quality versions:

Low quality version:

  • Video: 320x240, 24-bit DivX AVI, 30fps
  • Audio: 11kHz, 16-bit, mono
High quality version:
  • Video: 640x480, 24-bit DivX AVI, 30fps
  • Audio: 11kHz, 16-bit, mono
Note that you'll need a pretty fast CPU (probably at least 500MHz) and video card to play the high quality version at full framerate. The low quality version should play fine on most systems.

If you can't play these movies, you'll need a codec. If you're using Windows, try this one first, and if that doesn't do the trick, try this one or this one. This page has a codec for Mac OS 10.1 (thanks Ralph!) For all you beauty Linux users, try XMPS with OpenDivX.
